In our 22nd episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll take a look at the madness of our not so free speech in America. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, especially severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a state of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at evidence of our rapidly diminishing free speech amidst the onslaught of the Left.
At Arizona State University, they recently rescinded an offer they’d made to a journalism Dean candidate. His fatal flaw? He had tweeted support for the police. Say what? Moving over to Florida State University, the student government voted overwhelmingly to remove its President. His dirty deed? In a private chat room, he shared his Catholic beliefs on the LGBTQ issue.
UCLA recently removed a lecturer who did not agree with a student who wanted preferential treatment for being black. The Lecturer asked for an explanation of the policy he violated. He is still waiting. At Winthrop University, a Professor was censured. Pretty serious business there. His crime? He used the term ‘Wuhan Virus’ in a discussion. Am I in the Twilight Zone?
The University of Texas has suspended an award-winning professor for sending Tweets negatively portraying Barry Sortero and Kamala Harris in a negative light. How is this even possible? An epidemiologist who disagrees with the narrative of COVID-19 was taken off YouTube. Let’s not disagree with the P.C. police.
Going on to Snob Hill, Stanford University took exception to an art history professor who was disclosing what the N.W.A. in a rap group’s title actually stood for. Then she had the nerve to actually write the words to one of their songs on the board. Students were outraged. The Professors name disappeared from Stanford’s website, but they’re not answering questions. The Professor is assumed gone.
A Professor at the University of Alberta, in Canada, was recently terminated. In his case, his statements were totally unreasonable. He told the class that he believed biological sex, ala man and woman, were real. It is all hard to get your head around this kind of thinking and violation of rights.
Here is one that is really special. A Professor at the University of North Texas was recently fired. And it makes perfect sense to no one in their right mind. It seems the Professor was called out because he called some fliers handed out by students’ garbage’. The leaflets were calling out the students’ microaggressions’ in the classroom. They are garbage. The Professors’ boss (who knew they had bosses) offered him ‘re-education,’ and the prof refused. Good for him.
In word out of the Big Apple, New York mayor Bill DiBlasio has declared he is permanently banning the first amendment rights. I guess that is one way of not violating our First Amendment rights? And in Scottsdale, Arizona, we hear from that always fair and unbiased CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations). They filed suit this week against Scottsdale Community College seeking an injunction against a Professor for course content that has ‘the primary effect of disapproving of Islam.’ What has come of the First Amendment?
May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health and until next time has fun, enjoy life, and watch for the madness amongst us.
